According to the latest disclosure from DSCC founder and CEO @Ross Young, Samsung’s Fold 2 generation of folding screens will not start mass production until August and then go on sale in late August or September. At the same time, due to the shortage of ultra-thin glass for the first time, there will not be too much in the number of stocks, so it is very likely that a "one machine is hard to find" situation.

Insufficient stock or hard to find

Although South Korean media had previously reported that Samsung’s Fold 2 generation of folding screens is expected to begin mass production in July, news from insiders gave a different statement.

 According to the Twitter news of founder and CEO @Ross Young of DSCC, Samsung Fold 2 has almost no production capacity in July and will not be mass-produced until August, and the release time will be until the end of August or September About, and because of the limitation of ultra-thin glass production capacity, the supply quantity will not be too much, so users who want to start our best to buy as soon as possible.

It is reported that the shortage of Samsung’s Fold 2nd generation UTG ultra-thin glass for the first time will continue until 2021, which also means that there is a shortage of supply for a long time. 

However, the authenticity of the above news has yet to be confirmed. Sources have previously revealed that Samsung’s Fold 2 screen codenamed TOP and the Samsung Note 20 series codenamed CANVAS will soon begin internal training. It seems unlikely that the release time will be delayed to 9 months.

The price may be reduced

Of course, it is rumored that the Samsung folding screen Fold 2 generation will be delayed. It may also be related to the progress of firmware development. There is news that the leaked boot program indicates that the firmware of the machine has not been completed, so it is speculated that it will not be sold until mid-September. However, the good news is that the price of the new folding screen machine may be slightly cheaper than in the past, which is more in line with past rumors.

As Samsung's upcoming second-generation folding screen new machine, the Samsung Fold 2 is also designed as an internal folding type, but the display size of the folding screen and the external screen will increase to 7.7 inches and 6.23 inches, respectively, and the foldable display also Will support 120Hz refresh rate and use UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) to improve flexibility and durability.

Basically confirmed equipped with Snapdragon 865+

It is worth mentioning that Samsung’s new tablet Tab S7, which will debut with Samsung’s folding screen Fold 2 has already been exposed, and it is confirmed that it will be equipped with a Snapdragon 865+ processor clocked at 3.09Hz.
